Kaley Victoria Rose was committed to Sea Asylum in 1961, a fragmented soul revealing countless layers of complexity. Through her therapy sessions, she has manifested over 13 distinct personalities, each one a unique "passenger" within her fractured psyche, excluding her primary identity. Her behavior defies conventional norms, reflecting the chaotic depths of her inner world. An extraordinary subject, she has become the focal point of experimental therapy.
Kaley has preserved her memories through haunting artwork, offering a fragmented glimpse into the depths of madness. The diary, pieced together from her creations, has done little to provide answers but instead, it raises even more questions.
The primary that is at the wheel. She is the dark passenger who eventually brought Kaley to the Sea Asylum
The Monster is the only one the primary fears. She is the monster in the mirror.
Kaley, the primary among at least 13 confirmed personalities, was admitted to Sea Asylum at age 24. She serves as the voice for the others, speaking on their behalf most of the time.
Sally, age 6, is known as the "Eyes of the Hive." She sees everything, holding the weight of all the secrets within her fragile grasp.
Madeline Bennet, age 30, is the "Nurse of the Hive." With her medical background, she takes charge when problems arise and is always ready to fix what’s broken.
Maryann, age 20, is known as "The Wicked" for her countless misdeeds. A diagnosed sociopath and clinically insane, she is considered highly dangerous and should be avoided at all costs. Her absence, however, has not gone unnoticed as she hasn’t been seen in some time.
Mariah, age 19, known as "The Demon," suffers from post-traumatic stress disorder with psychotic features. She is trapped in relentless delusions, convinced that a demon haunts her every moment.
The Rabbit and The Hanged Man, enigmatic figures with no known age, are considered more urban legend than true personalities by the hive. Yet, Sally insists she has seen them, adding an unsettling layer to their mystery.
Lilly D'Amour, age 26, known as "The Artist" of the hive, is French. She channels the voices of the others through her hauntingly vivid paintings, though she herself rarely speaks.
Jack, age 45, is known to the hive as "The Mad Drunk." Unpredictable and volatile, he doles out harsh punishments or erupts in uncontrollable rage. When Jack emerges, everyone scatters to hide.
The Twins, age 10, are known for their mischievous nature and uncanny bond. They are two sides of the same coin; one is said to be good and the other bad. They revel in switching places, leaving the hive uncertain and on edge.
"The Siren," age unknown, is a haunting enigma within the hive. She never speaks but can be heard humming or singing her otherworldly tunes. Those who hear her fall into an unshakable trance, frozen in place until her voice slips back into silence.
"The Monster," age unknown, is the entity everyone in the hive dreads. Believed to have the power to make others vanish entirely, the mere thought of its presence instills terror. Whispers among the hive suggest it may be the reason Maryann is lost, her absence a chilling testament to its rumored capabilities.
"Little Bird," age unknown, is regarded by the hive as the original. The one who started it all. She is said to be locked away in an attic high above, her voice never heard. Yet, rumors persist that Sally speaks to her in secret, their whispered conversations cloaked in mystery.
Violet, age 29, is known as "The Voice" of the hive. When Kaley requires a spokesperson, Violet emerges with poise and intellect, commanding attention with her sharp mind and eloquence. The hive notes her flair for fashion, which becomes unmistakable when she remains in the driver’s seat for too long.
Constants, age 25, is known as "The Southern Harlot." With her beguiling charm and sultry demeanor, she effortlessly seduces men, using her allure to sustain a lavish and indulgent lifestyle.
The Kaley Victoria Rose project pushes the boundaries of immersive listening, thrusting the listener into the chaotic mind of madness. Through Kaley’s own perspective, with all its imperfections and dissonance, the experience becomes deeply uncomfortable and haunting, as you hear the unraveling of her psyche.
The spaces within this concept are drawn from the decaying remnants of a long-abandoned insane asylum. The sounds reverberate through these forgotten halls, pulling you deeper into Kaley Victoria Rose’s fractured mind, where reality blurs and the boundaries of sanity collapse.
Here is how we captured the spaces and what they sound like for the Kaley Victoria Rose concept album.
